This park is one of the best for long camping trips. The park is situated on the shores of Georgian bay. Gorgeous blue water, fine sand, good hiking trails and lots of wildlife to view. There are bears in the park, although chances of spotting a bear is quite less than spotting a deer. We would say, chances of spotting a deer is at least more than 95%, plenty of them near the lighthouse campground. The park offers gorgeous views of sunrise and sunset from the lighthouse campground.

Lighthouse campground has also larger campsites than the other campgrounds in the park. We have camped in Lighthouse and Kilcoursie bay campgrounds. We would prefer Lighthouse over kilcoursie just because the campsites are big, a little more private, less day user traffic as it's at the far end of the park and day users tend to visit the closest beach from the park office. Don't miss the serene sunset from the lighthouse, just grab a camp chair and walk from the lighthouse parking lot to the lighthouse point trail. If you are there only for the sunset, take the trail in the opposite direction, it would be very short.

Killbear park mall is located right outside the park premises that contains a convenience store, fresh fudge, wood and really good ice-cream. We find this store to have more flavous and bigger serving size than another convenience store (detour store) around 6 km from the park, but of course, it's a personal opinion! We would say, try both!

The closest town from the park is Parry sound, around 40 kms from the park. You have grocery, restaurants and also few good public beaches (no entry fees required).
